Blueberries
- Blueberries are related to cranberries, as well as the azalea, mountain laurel and rhododendron.
- They love acid soil and actually grow wild in many parts of Wisconsin. Wild blueberries are smaller (you’ll need more berries for your pie) and have a stronger flavor than domestic berries.
- They are very low in calories, but exceptionally good for you because of their antioxidants.

Sweet Corn
Vitaman A. Wow.
- A one cup serving of sweet yellow corn contains lots of vitaman A and some carotene, too. And, while we’re throwing around healthy words like that, there’s a good dose of lutein in that ear of corn, too.
- Then there’s fiber. We all know we don’t get enough of that – unless it’s sweet corn season!
- So, take a big, healthy bite out of that corn! We all know it’s a summertime treat!
-
Corn IS available year round, but there’s really nothing like the taste and experience of fresh-picked corn on the cob. At Geneva Lakes Produce we pick it fresh EVERY MORNING! (That’s the best time to pick veggies, because it’s cool and they’re full of moisture.)
